Innovation in Waste Prevention Fund - special update
"Today at Resourcing the Future, Resource Management Minister, Rory Stewart, welcomed the announcement by WRAP of the six winners in Round 2 of Defra's Innovation in Waste Prevention Fund for England.
“We were delighted to receive 66 applications for this Round and are very appreciative of the hard work and time taken to apply. Selecting the winning projects has been particularly tough as we were looking for high levels of innovation and new approaches.
"The successful applicants, many of whom offer fairly traditional re-use activities as their core service, have all come up with exciting project ideas that look at increasing re-use from a new angle. For example, Bicester Green is an established furniture re-use organisation but is looking specifically at increasing the amount diverted to re-use from people moving house in one of the fastest growing towns in Oxfordshire.
“I hope you enjoy reading about the Fund below and we will report on the progress of all sixteen projects awarded funding in the first two rounds of the scheme over the coming year. We hope also to announce details for Round 3 in the summer".
