Whet Your Appetite with an Interview with Os Guinness
Renaissance: The Power of the Gospel However Dark the Times

Os GuinnessHat tip to the Rev. Andrew O'dell for pointing this out:  At the very time that many Christians have shifted their focus from the unchanging gospel to the transformation of culture, countless churches have been transformed in the name of relevance into Christian entertainment centers with motivational speakers. So are we actually changing the culture, or are we being changed by it? Is cultural transformation something we should focus on in the first place? On this program, Michael Horton discusses these questions and more with Os Guinness, author of Renaissance: The Power of the Gospel However Dark the Times. Listen here.

Be Still and Know God, December 12-14
The single most important aspect of our life as Christians is our ongoing personal relationship with our heavenly Father. Jesus died that we might have access to the presence of God once again, just as Adam and Eve experienced in the garden. Supernatural encounters with the Spirit of God should be the expectation of every believer. However, our lives are so busy that we rarely slow down long enough to intentionally turn our gaze toward Him and acknowledge His presence with us. Neglect of intentional time alone with Jesus ultimately leads to an inability to hear His voice, burnout and fruitless ministry as we work out of our own strength instead of His power and presence. Father Rob Kunes will be leading December's Be Still and Know God Retreat. Learn more.

The story is loosely based on the life of Rick’s grandfather. “I'm calling the book a novel,” says Rick, “because I have embellished the story with many fictitious characters, changed dates, altered events and developed subplots that are not at all part of my grandfather's biography. Son and Heir is my attempt to relate the amazing chronology of my grandfather's life as an encounter between the human struggle for success and the divine offer of grace.  Learn more.
