Falling (2020) // Viggo Mortensen

Head of IT: Paul

"Viggo Mortensen’s first venture behind the camera is a portrayal of a man’s troubled relationship with his father. The film alternates between the father’s final years as his progressive dementia triggers his contentious nature, and recollections of his younger life. The film does an excellent job of pulling the viewer into their family drama, and as such can be difficult to watch at times."

Palm Springs (2020) // Max Barbakow

Marketing Officer: Kirsty

"Groundhog day meets alternative rom com in Palm Springs which stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti as 2 wedding guests who find themselves stuck in a time loop. Although the concept has been done before, this existential sci-fi felt  unique and had plenty of it's own charms. A witty, wonderfully wacky and surprisingly poignant debut from Max Barbakow. "

Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) // Hayao Miyazaki

Education Recommends
Ahead of Anime Day the Education team recommends Kiki's Delivery Service (U). One of Hayao Miyazaki's early works, this coming-of-age story follows a young witch who must overcome the challenges of being independent for the first time. A charming animation which explores themes that many of our young audience members will relate to!
