A LITTLE SOMETHING TO SAY A BIG THANKS


It’s our last full week of the year – remember next week we’re only open for Tuesday Food Host deliveries.  We’ve eaten our way through another year and every week there’s now over 900 of us buying our food together.  When 900 of us pool our shopping dollars it's powerful; it means serious and consistent support for Victorian organic farmers, it’s also 20 jobs for Fair Food workers, many of them asylum seekers and it's all our profits contributing to CERES environmental education programs that are visited every year by over 400,000 people and operated in 500 schools.  So in every order for this last week of the year we want to say a “big thanks” for sticking with Fair Food with a little something from our master chocolate making mates, Floyd and Patricia, at Cocoa Rhapsody. 
 

SUMMER FRUIT AND VEG ARRIVES AT LAST

In keeping with our run of odd weather and strange seasons for this millennium, the cold spring and summer’s failure to show up so far in December has set back the growing season for local summer fruit and veg.  But finally this week we’ve got Craig and Shelley Heppel’s zucchinis and Labertouche’s eggplants and cucumbers up in the “Extra Fruit and Veg” section of the webshop and also in your boxes.  Rod May’s corn will follow in January as will all of Kane Busch’s beautiful produce a month later than usual!   

There is now a full range of stone fruit up on the webshop including apricots, plums, white and yellow peaches and nectarines.  Talking to farmers it looks like the stone fruit season will be patchy, prices have come down a little but won’t get much better so make the most of them while they’re here.  This week we’ll also have limited supply of raspberries, blackberries and strawberries available which we’ll be holding our breath for as Christmas is always a tricky time to get berries.  

 

FAIR FOOD HOLIDAY CLOSURE

So we’re closed for Xmas and we’ll back 7th January and
like I was saying next Tuesday 24th December is our last delivery of the year.  It’s a delivery to our Tuesday Food Hosts only - so if you want to put in an order for Christmas Eve when you check-out select a Food Host near you that is open on a Tuesday and just make sure you get your date right.   If this makes no sense whatsoever just give Mary or Sue a call and we can talk you through it - 8673 6288.  Our first delivery for 2014 will be Tuesday 7th January and if you’re as fascinated by the eco-system of bacteria in your digestive tract as I am look out for our Unglut your Guts promo we’re doing with Pat’s Fermented Veg in the New Year.

CHRISTMAS CLOSURE AND LAST 2013 DELIVERY DATES


Fair Food will be closed from 3pm Christmas Eve (December 24th) until Monday 6th January

Our last Tuesday Food Host delivery will be Tuesday 24th December

Our last Wednesday Home Delivery will be Wednesday 18th December
 
Our last Thursday Food Host delivery will be Thursday 19th December
 
We reopen Monday 6th January with deliveries as normal that week
 
Please note some Food Hosts may be closed for extra holidays and you will not be able to select the dates they are closed if you try to order.

Our office will be open Tuesday 24th December until 3pm, and any urgent customer service issues (ordering issues, credits, etc) will be handled promptly on Friday 27th December. Please keep in mind we will be unable to offer product replacements and deliveries after the 24th of December due to the holiday closure.

ORDER DEADLINES

For Tuesday and Wednesday deliveries, order by 11:59pm Sunday night - yes, that's tonight!
For Thursday deliveries, order by 11:59pm Tuesday night.

MISSED CUT OFF?

If you ever miss cut off, or experience any difficulties with payments, simply email us BEFORE 10AM the following day and we'll pop through a sneaky manual order for you.
