Tri-Adventure September Newsletter

Dear <<First Name>>

So, it looks like Summer is nearly over and it’s back to the daily grind for most of us.  It’s a good job we’ve got  the Autumn Series to look forward to!  More of that later but, first, this is the last chance this year for me to mention The Hurtleberry, which is taking place on Sunday 13 September.

This off-road Duathlon in the Surrey Hills, considered to be a bit of a challenge, will direct participants along stunning woodland trails and single tracks in the beautiful Hurtwood.  Known for its hills and mountain biking trails, this event is certain to thrill and inspire.  We're also putting on a 10km Trail Run, which you can enter with your four legged friends. It’s a bit different from the normal Tri-Adventure events, as it will be signed all the way.  The Hurtleberry is being run to raise funds for the Hurtwood, and the Organisers want to make it an annual event.

Autumn Series:  4 hr Experience, 2 hr Sprint, and 2 hr Trail

Entries are now coming in for this series, and it’s great to see people taking advantage of the discounts on offer.   Do enter and enjoy the challenge and fun in a great community of fellow adventure racers.
I’ve had some enquiries about running an Academy training day – Academy – so I’m going to do this on Saturday 12 OCTOBER, in the vicinity of Tilford.  Drop me an email if you’re interested in developing your AR navigation skills, as there are places still available.  I guarantee that, by the end of the day, your compass and map reading skills will be second to none!
Questions and Answers
You’ll see from the various changes I’ve introduced into our programme – have a Series, offer prizes to Series winners, and so on – that I have already responded to some of the questions/suggestions I’ve received.  So, keep these coming!
I’ve also had a few questions asked about various other aspects concerning Tri-Adventure since the last Newsletter, so here they are:
  • Q: Do you intend to keep the 2 hour Trail in the programme, and does that mean that  the 1 hour option will no longer be available?
  • A: I’ve introduced the 2 hour Trail because that’s what some of you have asked for.  I’d be happy to review this in time for the Winter Series, if the demand is there.
  • Q: Given the shorter days in Winter, why don’t you just put on the Trail and Sprint events in the Winter Series?
  • A: I’m happy to do that.  Please email me to let me know what you prefer.  If demand for the Sprint is high, and those of you who usually take part in the Experience are happy to enter the Sprint, we’ll do it.

That’s it for this month!  Do keep the comments and suggestions coming, and keep supporting our various Events.
Yours in Adventuring
