US Secretary of State Nominee Rex Tillerson Recently Spent a Day with the Boy Scouts’ Orange County Council. Here’s What Happened.

You’ve seen his name and face in the news – Rex Tillerson, the appointee for US Secretary of State – but did you know he visited Orange County to speak with our own Scouting volunteers at our Leadership Breakfast just two months ago today? 

Mr. Tillerson, who is the CEO of Exxon Mobil, spent years as a Scoutmaster and eventually landed on the National Board of the Boy Scouts, where he became national president between 2010 and 2012, during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts. In his remarks, which you can watch on the video below, he remarked at length about how the Scout Oath and Law affected his life and that of the youth he led in our movement.
