Dear *|FNAME|*,
As you know Bicycle Victoria has been pushing for no stopping zones along Beach Road between 6am and 10am on weekend mornings. This proposal will be a win for riders and drivers. The proposal will reduce the risk to bike riders from parked cars. No stopping zones will greatly reduce conflict between riders and drivers who will be able to enjoy a lane each. We put this case to Roads Minister Pallas and he asked VicRoads to investigate the issue. This investigation has produced further debate. Ironically the life saving clubs came out against the proposal! Meanwhile Kingston has been doing its own investigation and this coming Monday night (8 February) the Kingston Council will be considering the no stopping zones. The Councillors plan to vote on the Kingston report which proposes no stopping zones on half the route. Our Route 33 page contains the Kingston Council report and the campaign blog. It is important that the Kingston Councillors know your view. This link will open an email to all Kingston Councillors. Please be positive and identify that you are a City of Kingston resident. Monday night is also your chance to make a difference in person. (7.00pm Cheltenham Office, 1230 Nepean Highway, Cheltenham. Call 9581 4710 to lodge your intent to speak) Please help make Australia's premier training route become a reality.
