PSEWEB Logo#PSEWEB2010

thank you, next year, win a prize

It is exactly one month from the day I drove home after the conference - taking pictures of the Welcome to London sign on my way, as if on the way home from some amazing journey.  During the conference, "PSEWEB" trended as one of the most tweeted words in Canada - take that Justin Bieber! Since the conference has ended, attendees continue to use twitter to connect - tagging questions and tips with "#pseweb" on twitter.
Thank you so much for being apart of this event.  I received a lot of thanks throughout, but without the 100+ attendees and sponsors and volunteers, we wouldn't have been able to do anything close to what we did - so thank you to all of you!

Take a Survey, Win a Prize
I've put together a survey to review your thoughts on the conference.  I've made only 4 or 5 questions required, so please click through and answer as detailed as you'd like.  The final page asks for your contact information, which I will use to draw for a thank you prize. #PSEWEB 2011
The next PSEWEB Conference will be in Toronto, in May 2011 - please leave your riot gear at home! Sponsors will be settled this summer, the call for speakers will go out this Fall, and the program will be finalized in March 2011.  There are three big changes for next year:
  • We are Organized! Yes, we've already started planning!
  • We will have an Advisory Board
  • We are no longer non-profit
Let's talk about this last point.  I have debated for the last two months how to run PSEWEB 2011.  There is much enthusiasm for the event and many have offered to volunteer.  I think there is one thing we know about higher ed web marketing, and that is design by committee isn't the most efficient way of doing things.  I am so proud, and so invested in this conference, that I do not want to rely on a committee.  All major decisions - be they financial, ethical, strategic or process - will be passed through the Advisory Board, which will be made up of 2010 PSEWEB attendees.  I am committed to spending the year building an amazing conference, above and beyond our success in the first year.
If you are concerned by this transition from non-profit to profit, please email me or give me a call.  As I said, the conference would have been nothing without the attendees, speakers and volunteers, so you have as much a right to weigh in on this as I do.

Presentation Uploads

Many of you have asked for access to presentation materials from the 2010 event.  You can find many of the presentations posted here: http://www.slideshare.net/event/pseweb2010.  You can also find Mark Greenfield's materials at www.markgr.com/pseweb/.  I will be uploading the audio recordings over the summer.

That's it! Thank you again - and don't forget to fill out the survey!
