Electricity for the Orphanage
We’re so close and we still need your help. Through your holiday donations we raised $1630. Thank you so very much!

Just $600 more will light up the 9 classrooms at the school where our 550 orphans study.

Just $3300 more will bring electricity to the other buildings on the campus – auditorium, library, dorms and dining room.

Can you imagine what a huge difference this will make for them? With all their chores and classes there are very few daylight hours for studying. When the sun goes down they are in their extremely cramped dorms – one dorm for hundreds of teenage girls and one dorm for hundreds of teenage boys – until the following morning. Electricity will improve the quality of their lives in so many ways – how they study, cook, clean, bathe, communicate with the outside world…

I received this from Rev. Thoms this morning and wanted to share this as we focus on sending our blessings to the people of Haiti.

Hello Dear Sister Lori,

Thank you for the news about your fundraising for electricity. The children receive this news with great happiness.

Our orphans are praying for you and our donors but especially now for the people of Haiti. The dying people of Haiti reminds the orphans of what they passed through during genocide period so they what they share with Haiti. This is their prayer: "Lord please if you are listening to our prayer use your power to bring your comfort to Haiti stop this tragedy so we never again see people dying at this level.”
