Tate Student Center expansion opens

New Tate Center
After four years of planning and construction, the newly expanded Tate Student Center opened June 1, with an official dedication planned for Aug. 20. The 100,000-square-foot expansion doubles the size of the student center, which originally opened in 1983. The $60 million project was funded through a fee increase that the student body approved in 2005. Photo gallery »

Earl Davis Chair awarded to Ben Ayers
Benjamin C. Ayers, director of the J.M. Tull School of Accounting, has been named to the Earl Davis Chair in Taxation. Ayers is the first professor to be appointed to the Davis Chair, which reached its goal of a $2 million endowment in 2008 and was approved by the Board of Regents this spring. More »
