Are you are Goer, Sender, or Mobilizer for the Gospel?
100 People

Hello <<First Name>>!

This is your June 2010
100 People Network newsletter! At the Austin Stone, we are calling all partners to participate in the Great Commission either as a GOER, a SENDER, or a MOBILIZER.

This newsletter will inform you how to grow and serve in one of these roles.

GOERS

Afghanistan: Are you looking for a place/people/nation to serve as a GOER? You are invited to join others from the Austin Stone at this year’s annual Concerned Christians for Afghanistan conference. You can check out some of the details on their website. They keep a few details confidential for security reasons, so if you want to know more, let us know and we’ll get you the answers. The conference will have a host of folks from all over the US that are networked in and/or interested in work in Afghanistan. Basically, this is likely the best networking opportunity of the year in America for ministry in Afghanistan.  If you are interested in going, please let us know ASAP by responding to this email!

“How to discern God’s will?”: Does God want you to be a GOER to the nations? How do you know for sure? Check out our recent blog series on “How to Know God’s Will?” for help discerning whether God wants you to go to the nations for the sake of the Gospel.

SENDERS

Give money for the nations to know Jesus: To give an idea of the financial implications of sending 100 people to the nations, are a few projections:
  • On average, every goer will need ~$2500 per month to support their time abroad.
  • That means, that every goer needs an average of 25 people to give $100 per month, which leads to a total of 2500 people giving an average of $100 per month.
  • At an average of $2500 per month, we need about $3 million for a year of sending 100 goers ($2500 per month *100 goers * 12 months = 3 million)
Please consider giving to a Goer through the Austin Stone. 100% of the donations we receive go directly into the hands of 100 People Goers to unreached people groups. To learn more about how to give to our goers, see here

Serve on an Advocacy Team: We have over 60 Goers in process to go to one of the hardest places on earth because of and for the Gospel. Each one of them needs a support team in Austin. We call these support teams “Advocacy Teams”. An advocacy team is group of individuals (typically 6-12) who take the responsibility to coordinate our church’s support and encouragement of our Goers (single, couple, or family) and to serve as their representatives to the Austin Stone church body. If you are interested in serving on one of these teams, sign up HERE
