Must children honor a teen predator? How "Harvey Milk Gay Day" threatens millions of California schoolchildren (NOTE: The following message contains mature content not suitable for children) In California, "Harvey Milk Gay Day" will be newly promoted to schoolchildren May 17-28 by liberal teachers, principals and school districts. But why would anyone train children to honor a sexual predator? San Francisco Chronicle reporter Randy Shilts' 1982 book, "The Mayor of Castro Street," detailed Milk's sexual relationships with a 16-year-old, a 19-year-old and other young men: "...sixteen-year-old McKinley was looking for some kind of father figure...At 33, Milk was launching a new life, though he could hardly have imagined the unlikely direction toward which his new lover would pull him." (pages 30-31) "It would be to boyish-looking men in their late teens and early 20's that Milk would be attracted for the rest of his life." (page 24) "Harvey always had a penchant for young waifs with substance abuse problems." (page 180) Angry yet? You should be. Hart Union High School District Spokeswoman Pat] Willett said about teachers including Harvey Milk Day in the curriculum. The bill calls for the day to be observed by public schools as a day of special significance. Teachers will be encouraged to conduct exercises recalling Milk’s life and contributions to the state. Willett imagines teachers could include Milk in a discussion of civil rights. – Santa Clarita Signal, Oct. 14, 2009 A TEACHER IN A "CONSERVATIVE" AREA PLANS TO INDOCTRINATE HIS STUDENTS: Galt High School teacher Alex Bauer said no mention of changing current curriculum has been made at the district level there, but he favors a formal recognition. "I like the idea since the state standards don't have much coverage of the gay rights movement. Milk was a trailblazer for gays in politics, and he should be recognized for his courage and determination in the face of difficult cultural realities." -- Lodi News Sentinel, Oct. 16, 2009 HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVISTS HAVE PREPARED CURRICULUM: The measure was backed by Equality California, the largest gayrights organization in the state. Geoff Kors, executive director of the group, said it would develop curriculum for schools and teachers to use on Milk's birthday. – San Francisco Chronicle, Oct. 13, 2009 "THE HARVEY MILK STORY" HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN FOR KINDERGARTNERS: "On a rainy day in January, on the steps of San Francisco's City Hall, Harvey Milk was sworn into office, the first openly gay elected city official in the United States of America. Harvey Milk had made history." In making history that day, Minnie Milk's intelligent, energetic and courageous son "showed the world that by not being afraid to be yourself, you can give others the courage to be proud of who they are." Harvey's legacy is everywhere today in the hundreds of openly gay elected officials in every level of government, including the United States Congress. -- Amazon.com excerpt of "The Harvey Milk Story"; Reading Level: Ages 4-8 Homosexual activists are promoting Harvey Milk to educators statewide Santa Ana: Santa Ana proclaims 'Harvey Milk Day' link San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Bakersfield: Readings and production of the play "Dear Harvey" link Sacramento: May 12 gala fundraiser for Harvey Milk Foundation link The "Harvey Milk Foundation" vs. pro-family values link Sacramento: May 19 "Milk and Cookies" Panel Discussion and the Screening of "Milk" link Sacramento, May 22: Harvey Milk Day State Capitol rally link Alameda, May 22: Harvey Milk Day festivities link San Francisco: Harvey Milk school curriculum being prepared link San Francisco: fight over HM bullhorn / homosexual activists create Harvey Milk religion with icons link San Francisco: Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy (school) link Bakersfield: No district-wide "celebration" but schools and teachers can still push Harvey Milk's values. I pray that none of our schools push this ridiculous day. Cherylyn What many parents don't realize is that the students in the schools have already been indoctrinated by the media, and they are bringing it to school and sharing it with each other, including with the kids who come from good Christian homes. I am a middle school teacher. A Christian student just told me a couple of days ago that teachers would be surprised at what the students are saying all day. He said it is all sexual. Melissa Cherylyn is right. I've been fortunate that the majority of my son's teachers have had the same values as we do. But it's the students that you have to watch out for. Some of the things my son has said the other kids say and do, is just shocking. I am so blessed that he has a good Christian background and recognizes right from wrong and isn't afraid to voice his opinion. Unfortunately, with the currently passed regulation, his beliefs can now be construed as "hate speech". As I have posted in the past, we are currently looking at home school options for next year.
