The journey I took to find Cogmed came over a period of 7 years. The success my son is now experiencing came about partly as a result of these years of work and intensive searching. In this video "ADHD Doctor DAD: What I tried for my son", I discuss some of what I found on that path. Yet, as an ADHD Doctor or Psychologist-Dad, I thought with both with the skepticism of a research-trained psychologist and the urgency of a dad. In this video I discuss my search for effective and efficient ADHD treatment. I discuss behavior management (parent training), stimulant medications for ADHD, EEG biofeedback. I will cover the costs and benefits of these different approaches and why Cogmed Working Memory TrainingTM is so compelling. I also discuss some the recurring theme of high school and college kids abusing stimulant medications like Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta, etc.
