In the midst of many difficult and challenging economic stories the tale of excitement in Freeport is building-in more ways than one! There are many things happening in Freeport as you all know. We will facilitate our first social media event on April 7th at the Harraseeket Inn. I encourage you to join us to hear directly from Rob Landry- about how to make friends and influence people through social networking during his presentation “What is all the Twittering about?”- For more details and to register please click here. On April 16th we will facilitate a Job Fair at the Mallet Building in an effort to bring potential employees together with employers in Freeport. There are full time and part time positions available today in Freeport- some are temporary for the summer season and some are permanent. If you have job openings please send them to our website posting, or email Melissa to participate in the job fair. If you or someone you know is thinking about a part time or full time job opportunity, please attend the Job Fair on April 16th. More details will posted on the employment page of the website in the coming weeks.
On May 23rd we will host our AAA Membership Appreciation Day. This will be the first of two such events this summer. Registration for AAA members will take place at Freeport Village Station. If you have a promotional offer that you would like us to include in the registration gift bag, please let Melissa know before April 5th.
I have heard from many partners that business is lifting - a number of recent weeks have been stronger this year than last year. I have also heard that a few events have been more successful than years prior-all very encouraging. I share these things with you because it is a critical time of year to prepare and ready ourselves for the summer season. We are already enjoying longer sunny days, warmer blue skies, and flowers are starting to bloom (I saw my first crocus today!). With that, comes more activity and more business! Summer is just around the corner and we will all be extremely busy and thrilled that we spent this time preparing for the busy season ahead. We will celebrate the opening of the Freeport Village Station a 120,000 s.f. State of the Art retail shopping and dining experience designed to enhance the authentic 19th century village feel .The Station will include more than 550 parking spaces and other customer amenities. We will enjoy more retail and dining opportunities for ourselves and our guests and traffic will come, summer will happen. Do not let yourself get stuck in today or even tomorrow…think ahead and prepare for what will be! Talk to you soon!
