Hi everyone! This is just a short update to remind you of a few things that could save you money, and to announce the first winner of our Free Hotel-Room Giveaway....
September early-registration discounts ending tonight
Today is the last day for the September early-registration discounts on the Half and Full Marathon races. Current prices are $65 for the Marathon, and $50 for the Half. These prices will be $10 higher starting tomorrow, but there's still time to save... just register before midnight (Central Time) tonight!

Remember also that you can still get a $5 discount code by becoming a Fan of the Houston IM's official Facebook Page. Better snap to it, though, if you want to use it on your registration tonight! The quickest way to get your code after becoming a Fan is to send an email with your full name to us at <imafan@houstoninline.com>. We'll reply right away with your code, which is valid as soon as you receive it!

Hotel Giveaway: We have a winner!
This past Monday afternoon, we held a random drawing to award the first of our three Hotel Giveaway prizes to a lucky skater. Of all those who registered before the drawing was held, the randomly-selected winner was Stephen Larios of Nashville, TN! Señor Larios, who happens to be the proprietor of the famous Asphalt Beach skating shop and school in Nashville, will be enjoying a comfortable stay at the Doubletree Houston Downtown the night before the race, on us. Congratulations, Steve!
The second of our three Hotel Giveaway drawings will be held on Friday, October 9th. Everyone who has registered by noon on that day — including all those who weren't selected in the first drawing — will then have another shot at the prize. The third and final drawing will be on Friday, October 16th. The sooner you register, the more chances you have to win... so register today!
One more thing: Don't wait for the Hotel Giveaway drawings to reserve your own room! We can always make the necessary arrangements if you win a free room later. You can book your own room at the Doubletree online using our custom self-service website, or call the Doubletree national reservations center at 1-800-222-TREE, and use group code "HIM". Either way, you'll enjoy a fantastic price of only $79 a night!
