I hope you are enjoying the beautiful July weather. This summer time is the perfect time to reflect on your business and your life as a whole whether you are in holidays or not. Actually I am in Paris right now, took some time off my busy London life, relaxing and reflecting on how I could best support my community.
Tips of the month The 5th Sin of Struggling Entrepreneurs is now revealed. ‘The Seventeen Sins of Struggling Entrepreneurs’ is a humoristic mini video series featuring Abu, a Struggling Entrepreneur who does business the other way round. As a result he gets into big troubles! The coaching tips included at the end will help you to learn from his mistakes and avoid doing the same. These mini videos series come from my E-book, ‘The Seventeen Sins of Struggling Entrepreneurs’ and are posted weekly at www.nucleusofchange.com/nec/17sins.html.
The Sin #5: Doing Life Around Business Struggling Entrepreneurs try to fit their life around their business rather than choosing a business that fit their lifestyle. Topic of the month What kind of Entrepreneur are you or want to become? I was discussing last week with a friend who is an expert in Financial Investment and a published author. She is currently working for a big financial company and just had a baby. I asked her how she was seeing her future. She told me that her goal is to become an independant investment advisor with a very innovative way of working with clients. However she said that she is not looking to be an Entrepreneur and running a business as the only thing she is interested in is to advise clients on Investment strategies. I thought that was very clear and focussed. Here is someone who clearly is going to save herself a lot of troubles that most people who start a business face.
Being Independant and working with your pasion doesn't mean you have to run a business on your own. This distinction is very important.
In fact there are different types of motivation why people start their own business. Often people are not very clear about their deep motivation when they start and end up spending most of their time on the tasks that they hate. Of course this doesn't mean that being an Entrepreneur is all about doing what you like! But there is a fine line between spending your time fire fighting and focusing 80% of your time on where you add the most value.
So which type of Entrepreneur are you?
- The Innovator: You have a fabulous idea, a new combination of existing product or services that will revolutionise the world - The Frustrated: You are frustrated by the way things are now and want to make things better - The Craftperson: You would rather spend your time making things from your own hands, being on the ground rather than analysing abstract stuff - The Keeper of tradition: You are born in a family where you don't even think twice to become an Entrepreneur because that is how things work - The Smart: After some experience you have understood that you can do for yourself what you are doing for your boss and have much more rewards from it
Depending on which type of Entrepreneur you are close to, there are different strategies of entering, developing and exiting the business for a maximum satisfaction. We will discuss these strategies Thursday 15th July during this FREE NEC Webinar “The Nine Steps to Design the Perfect Business Model That Suits Your Lifestyle”.
