Old Photographs
Spring has sprung and I began clearing the clutter in my house. In the process of clearing the clutter, I cam upon a box of old photographs. The photographs of me when I was a young child and as I looked into the eyes of the little girl in the photograph, I wondered what she would think about the person we had become. Inspired by this thought, I found some paper and began to write to her. I began the letter, "Dear Little Laura, Do you remember the dream you had about being on stage and dancing? Well, we didn't make it to Broadway, however, our spirit has learned to dance in ways you could have only imagined. Let me tell you about the adventures you had." I began to tell her our story and all about the twists and turns our life had taken. I shared with her the laughter and the sorrow. I looked in the eyes of the girl in the photograph and I cried with her, I told her of the pain that we would endure only to be re-born into a greater expression of our self. I shared with her the things in life I had done that I wasn't very proud of and all about the defining moments in our life. I let her know all about our children and how it feels to be a mother. I continued to write our story and how life continues to remind me that I have everything I need to fulfill my dreams. It was when I put the pen down and sat quietly for a moment that I realized I had cleared the clutter that had been keeping space in my head. On each page there was a piece of my past that I no longer needed to keep in my head. It was done and its purpose revealed in a letter to myself.
Life has a way of guiding you to exactly what you need in the time you need it. I may be a person whose compassion and wisdom helps you heal a wound It may be a book that falls off a shelf right in front of you with the exact words you need to hear, or it may come in a box filled with old photographs when you are clearing clutter. Allow life to show up and embrace the miracle with open arms.

If you are unsure of which direction to take in life, she helps guides you in the direction that is for the highest and best of all involved. She reminds you to play and enjoy the simple things in life.

Consciously Creating a Wonderful World!
The Consciously Creating a Wonderful World campaign was inspired by the recent events in Haiti. It's mission is to create community, compassion and understanding in our wonderful world and falls in line with the belief we are all one with one another and the planet. How we do that involves mind, body and spirit.
With our minds we create our lives, we decide what we believe and who and what we want to support. With our bodies we volunteer or do what we can to be responsible custodians of the earth. With our Spirit, we acknowledge our oneness and send love, light and blessings to those in need through our prayers and intentions. Whether you give money, time, prayers or even a smile to another human being, it validates the one reality and in turn validates you, because you always get what you give. It is a universal law and it is powerful.
At Consciously Creating with Laura and Kelly, we have dubbed Tuesday, as Give Back with Gratitude Tuesday's. My co-host, Kelly Whetstone and myself has pledged to donate 10% of our Tuesday earnings on 12Angel and 12Listen to the the non-profit organization we highlight for the month. This month we are highlighting Volunteers of America, an organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential.
