Coach Quotes
"I have been impressed with how the Hudl team takes coaches'
input and integrates it into their system quickly. We don't have to wait a year for a new
upgrade to come out like you do with some other programs."

"Hudl is very user friendly and the support staff
has been excellent whenever we have any questions. Hudl will help improve our program and

This Month: In The Hudl
Auto Cut DVDs with Scene Detection
When Hudl detects sharp or drastic changes in video (e.g. exactly what happens when you stop
recording and start 10 seconds later), it's smart enough to auto-cut clips from that break.
For some sports, this feature doesn't apply. If you record the whole game as a continuous
stream (only stopping for major breaks), we won't be able to detect individual scenes. But
if the video has been stopped then restarted between each play, point, jump, etc.,
Hudl will do the work for you.
This will save you time. Focus on your upcoming opponent or catch up on yard work.
I had two scout DVDs to import into Hudl tonight. Was I surprised when a screen
popped up telling me that Hudl was going to cut the video into clips for me! It worked
like a charm. Now if you figure out a way to determine offense from defense,
I would lose my job.

Create Team Highlights
We know that most teams create a team highlight at the end of a game or the end of the season.
If you don't, you might consider it once you see how easy it is to do with Hudl.
Create a team highlight with the same steps you use to create highlights for individuals.
In your Hudl library, click the star icon next to a great clip and choose Team Highlight.
Hudl will add the clip your team highlight reel to your revamped team page. Show off your teams' best moments.
Improved Team Pages
Through your feedback, we learn what features coaches actually need
rather than what features we think coaches need. Our initial version of the team page is a perfect example.
Your teams' highlights are now showcased right at the top of the page--right next to buttons
for sharing your mad skills over Twitter, Facebook, or Email.
Your roster and schedule sections are much larger and easier to read. We added better links to
help you reach your athletes' highlight pages quickly.
Faster Basketball Breakdown
We reworked our basketball quick breakdown in the Hudl Video Editor. Not only is everything
clearer and easier to use, now coaches can enter each player's stats on the fly as they
capture their games live into Hudl. Keyboard shortcuts help you keep up with the speed
of the game.
After the game ends, generate shot charts and tendency reports from those stats--both
of which are linked to your video.

Get to Know the Hudl Support Team: Matt Mueller
Our support team is working overtime to make sure you have the best possible experience
with Hudl. The man leading the charge is our Client Support Manager Matt Mueller,
and we are lucky to have him on board as an integral part of our team.
Born in East St. Louis, Matt's father established private high schools around the
country and served as the dean for a number of
years, a job that moved his family often. Before graduating high school, Matt had
called four different states "home" - Illinois,
Kentucky, Texas, and Nebraska.
Matt attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where he received his undergrad in Computer Science from the Jeffrey S. Raikes
School of Computer Science and Management in 2005 and his MBA in 2006.
Post-graduation, Matt accepted a position with National Instruments and moved to
Austin, Texas. At NI, Matt managed the software
technology support team. He accredits many of the training, teaching, and support
fundamentals used with Agile Sports' support
team to his days at NI as an Application Engineer. During this time, Matt also
worked on marketing various products including
several of NI's core software products.
In July 2007, Matt moved back to Nebraska to join the Agile Sports team, quickly
transitioning from his role as a software
developer to his current position as Client Support Manager.
In his free time, Matt enjoys hanging out with his seven-month-old son, Braylon
and his wife, Andrea. He also enjoys watching
sporting events and playing rec sports including basketball and football. Matt
also serves as our "Master of the Mist", keeping
us all up-to-speed on everything that happens on the internet.

Text Messages + Email + Hudl = Uber Coaching Machine
We've heard of athletes watching the game together at Hudl pizza parties, texting
coaches as soon as they get home asking when
practice video will be on Hudl, and sharing their own video notes to teammates
to highlight an opponent's weakness.
Some coaches go a step further, using text messages and email combined with Hudl
video notes in pretty creative ways to
get their athletes even more engaged in learning off the field.

Pittsburg Girls Basketball Dominates with Hudl
From 2005-2008, the Pittsburg State women's basketball team collected a total
of 32 wins, averaging just over 10 wins per season.
The 2008-09 campaign brought dramatic improvement for the Gorillas, as Head
Coach Lane Lord and his squad rose from last place to
third place in the MIAA Conference with the program's first 20-win campaign since 1995.
Lord credits a lot of their success to
the team's use of Hudl.
