Piccolo Chef, a culinary academy for children and teens located at the Westside Children’s Center in Culver City, now offers cooking vacations to parents and children in a setting that dates back to the Roman Era…in the Region of Umbria, Italy.
On the summit of a hill overlooking the town of Todi, amidst the silvery olive trees that dominate the Tiber Valley, a medieval lookout tower opens its doors with the welcome of a private residence in a warm family atmosphere….here begins your family’s culinary adventure in Italy.
Families will stay at the Tenuta di Canonica Agriturismo, a residence located just outside the medieval hill town of Todi, and surrounded by an enchanting countryside, between forests, olive groves and fruit orchards, where they will enjoy an incomparable view of the Tiber Valley and lake Corbara, as well as Todi.
Children (and adults!) will enjoy hands-on cooking classes with professional Italian chefs. They may choose to hunt for truffles, take mountain bike tours, learn to speak Italian with private instructors, take half-day tours of local towns and museums or go horseback riding. There are also olive oil, cheese and wine tastings – Piccolo Chef will help you design an itinerary especially for your family’s interests.
The basic package includes 6 nights at the Tenuta, 2 meals per day (breakfast and choice of lunch or dinner by candlelight in the garden), happy hour/snacks, 4 cooking classes per child (the grand finale class will take place outside in the garden using the wood oven), wine tasting tour for adults, transfers from/to airport, and a guided tour for adults. The cost of one of these 7-day dream vacations is $2,200 per adult and $1,500 per child.
These vacations will be available all summer long. Call Piccolo Chef today at 310.295.4208 to register, as space is limited.
