Women and Security Executive Program

January 2010
The Women and Security Executive Program (WSEP) is chaired by Ambassador Swanee Hunt, Eleanor Roosevelt Lecturer in Public Policy. Since 1999, the program has trained leading women in the field of security and peace building from conflict and post-conflict states. The leaders engage in in-depth classroom discussion, sharing best practices and learning from the experience of their colleagues. During faculty sessions, the participants are exposed to a variety of experts and topics pertinent to their work. Examples of classroom sessions include role-playing methods as a means for conflict resolution; the challenges for global leadership and US foreign policy; leadership and its subset, 'followership'; and, the roots of inter-group conflict.

Women and Power: Leadership in a New World

May 16-21, 2010
The Women and Power Executive Program is designed to further develop the leadership strategies and skills of women in the corporate, non-profit and public sectors. The program is intended for women in senior positions, and provides teaching and training by Harvard Faculty on how to enhance one’s influence and authority in organizational and political contexts. Women and Power was created in collaboration with the Women and Public Policy Program, Executive Education, and the Center for Public Leadership. Professor Hannah Riley Bowles serves as the faculty chair of the Program.
