SciPy 2010

Hello *|FNAME|*,

With SciPy2010 a mere month-and-a-half away, it's time to start preparing the conference proceedings.  On this tentative programme we've highlighted the talks for which we require accompanying papers (these are mostly the longer, twenty-minute talks).  However, please note that the conference proceedings is a window onto SciPy2010 activities, so all submitted papers are considered for publication.

Submission Guidelines

Papers are formatted using reStructuredText and the compiled version should be no longer than 7 pages, including figures.  To assist in preparation, an author kit is available (also from Github).  The kit contains an example paper that may be modified to your liking.

Steps to produce a paper:

  1. Download the author kit.
  2. Modify my_paper.rst to your liking.
  3. Run "make" to compile to PDF (requires LaTeX, docutils, Python).
If, for some reason, the paper does not compile, simply complete the text, send us the .rst and we'll take care of the rest.

Here are some guidelines on using reStructuredText for SciPy papers

Papers may be submitted via e-mail to 2010submissions@scipy.org by June 20th.

And don't forget to register!
Of course we don't require you to attend the conference, but we highly recommend it! You might also consider signing up for our tutorials and sprints while you're at it.

Register

Please note that we have a limited number of rooms held at the conference center with discounted rates (the code is given in your registration receipt) - but they're filling up very quickly! So book your accommodation as soon as possible.

Best,
