“Call me back after Christmas”

Well Christmas time is here again, which means that when telemarketing we are faced with the oldest objection in the book……. “Call me back after Christmas.”
Something about this time of year makes people a little overwhelmed, makes them think that they are busy whether they are or not.

To overcome this, make sure that you deliver your pitch with a sense of urgency. It is a good idea to have an offer that is time based, so that you can encourage your potential client to take action now, rather than leave it until later.

Most of all make sure that you don’t accept this objection as valid. As soon as you start to sympathize with your prospect over the phone, all of a sudden, almost everyone will want to be called back after Christmas. It is almost like you start to attract it.

The truth is, in my experience when you do call these people back after Christmas, they will normally not remember you and will have little interest in your offer. What does this tell us? That the original objection was not a valid one, it was just an excuse to get off the phone.

Do your calls with plenty of passion and enthusiasm, instill a sense of urgency and you’ll be well on your way to overcoming this objection, every time!



Here are 13 not to be broken Telemarketing rules….

Rule # 1

Plan your Telemarketing Campaign -
Picking up the phone “willy nilly” (so to speak) does not a campaign make! You need a plan.
What part will your telemarketing call take in your sales strategy? Are you getting a lead?
Turning a lead into a warmer lead? Appointment setting or closing? Think it out….

Rule # 2

Follow the Telemarketing Regulations -
Each area has regulations in regard to what type of telemarketing calls you can make, when you can make them and to whom. So follow the Telemarketing rules in your area.

Rule # 3

Always use a Telemarketing Script or Call Guidelines -
There are really no exceptions here…even for experienced telemarketers. The bare minimum you need is call guidelines in front of you. It is so easy to go off track on a telemarketing call.
By using a telemarketing script you make less mistakes, sound more organised and confident and you ensure you cover everything in your call.
