Announcing Cellar Rat Wine School!

Learn the basics of wine and more with our unique approach to wine education!

Each session costs only $25 per person for two hours of instruction and tasting.

What makes my classes different? Most beginning classes attempt the impossible- to give an all around introduction to the wines of the world in a couple hours! My classes are dedicated to providing you with information that the average novice wine drinker can remember and use. There will be classes that offer more general information across regions and styles, plus classes specializing in specific regions.

Here's the line up of classes for July and August-

Wine 101- You'll learn how to properly describe what you like, how to order from a wine list and how to choose wine at a wine shop. I'll dispel some myths about food/wine matching. I'll also give you tips on how to get the most wine for your dollar, no matter what the price range. I'll also give you some tips on how to expand your knowledge of wine on your own. And, of course, we'll cover the basics of tasting, serving, storing and aging wine.
Tuesday, July 6th- 6:30-8:30 PM
or Tuesday, July 27th- 6:30-8:30 PM

The Big Four Reds-
A discussion and tasting of the world's four most popular and widely planted red varieties- Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. You'll taste and learn what to expect from these wines based on where they're grown and winemaking style.
Thursday, July 22nd- 6:30-8:30 PM
or Thursday, August 19th- 6:30-8:30 PM

Wines of the Loire Valley-
Some of France's most wonderful and popular wines come from the Loire Valley. Perhaps best known for whites such as Sancerre, Vouvray and Muscadet, we'll also explore the tasty and interesting reds of the region, such as Chinon and Saumur.
Tuesday, August 10th- 6:30-8:30 PM

Wines of Piemonte- The Piemonte (Piedmont) region in Italy's northwest produces a dazzling array of top wines- from it's most famous heavy hitter red, Barolo to lush, refreshing Barbera as well as crisp whites such as Gavi and Arneis. We'll taste all these and discuss what makes this region's wines among the best in Italy and the world.
Tuesday, August 24th- 6:30-8:30 PM

Classes are limited to 15 people. Reserve your spot today by calling 773-489-2728.
