Get Ready to ShakeOut!
More than 6.8 million Californians are registered to participate in the ShakeOut drill today at 10:15 a.m. Whether you registered months ago, or even just today, we hope you are ready for your drill this morning!
Make sure to tune in to radio and TV stations playing the "ShakeOut Drill Broadcast" at 10:15 a.m. (see the list of participating stations). The broadcast has instructions for what to do during earthquake shaking and earthquake sound effects. You can also download the recording to play on your computer, MP3 player, or your organization’s PA system.
Radio and TV commercials, online advertising, electronic billboards, and other ShakeOut promotions are happening all over the state. Please email info@shakeout.org to describe what you've seen, and if possible include a photo, or forward any promotional emails you've received. Thank you!
Also, please take photos of your drill today! Then after the ShakeOut is over, go to www.ShakeOut.org/drill/photos/ to submit your photos and also tell us your ShakeOut Drill story. Let us know what happened and especially what you learned.
Finally, if you know someone or an organization that has not yet registered, please direct them to www.ShakeOut.org where they can register even after the drill, if they participated. Thank you for doing your part to prepare yourself or your organization, and all of California, for earthquakes. We hope your drill is a worthwhile and informative experience!
