Following last Thursday's Dublin Festival of Fashion media launch at The Westin Hotel Dublin, there really is only one fashion event on everybody's lips! The inaugural launch saw this year's face of the festival TV Presenter Karen Koster kick off the event in style alongside a host of top fashion industry names including Brendan Courtney, Sinead Doyle, Heidi Higgins, Jennifer Rothwell and Angela Scanlon.
The three day Dublin Festival of Fashion will take over the vibrant surroundings of Dublin City Centre from the 1st - 3rd October kicking off with extended late Friday night shopping and must see in-store events. The Dublin Festival of Fashion will also offer a fresh mix of live fashion events, special offers, in-store promotions and a series of pop-up fashion and beauty master classes around the city. The highlight of the weekend is the first ever fashion catwalks coming to life in on Grafton Street and Henry Street. Three daily shows translating the season’s key trends will feature everything from high street to high end to retro vintage, all selected from the stylish retailers of Dublin city. In addition to the unique schedule of daily fashion and beauty events, there will also be a number of art and cultural exhibitions, children’s craft events, Fashion Swap Shops and free design events such as crochet, knitting and jewellery making classes. We really can't wait for it all to start!

Ruby Rocks AW10 collection is off the chain ! Bigger , bolder , brighter prints and silhouettes are key this season. Exaggerated military urban with an 80's twist rocks the collection, full embellishment and extreme detailing shine. Palettes are earthy hues mixed with brights and gold . Our favourite is the bodycon chevron military sweat dress , adam astraunaut tee and fun but functional denim boiler suit.MORE
Nicky writes a weekly column for both Irish and British Boutiques. She offers valuable insight into the life of the fashion agent turned blogger!!!!!
Press releases pop into my email box at an enormous rate ,something I hadn’t at all figured on when I started this blog. I try to speed read through them all lest I miss something truly incredible. One I missed from last year was an invitation to a dinner at which Lady Gaga was a guest (and no, it was real, I saw the pics after) which I only looked at when it was too late to change my ticket to LFW!
Today I spotted one from Brown Thomas (and as I’m heading very early tomorrow morning to Galway to share what I know about Hosiery and Falke in particular to anyone who will listen), I opened it. Surprise to find that their Christmas shop in the Dublin store is opening this Friday!!!! What? I hadn’t even begun to think about Halloween yet, not until I opened a second email from Etsy and saw these pictures that cheered me up no end . No I don’t want to know anything about Santa, Sleighs, snow men or anything with bells or baubles on it…..
