Cincinnati Off-Road Alliance
June 2010

England-Idlewild is seeing extensive reworking this year!

     The Cincinnati Off Road Alliance (CORA) and the Kentucky Mountain Bike Association (KyMBA) are bicycle advocacy organizations dedicated to providing education, outreach and stewardship.  We seek to preserve, expand and enhance natural surface trail systems in an effort to ensure continued access to high quality, well-maintained trails for self propelled activities.

     We need energetic and motivated people to help foster our area trail assets.  Go to
www.mtbohio.com/cora or www.kymba.org  for more information on how to get involved.  The trails need your support!!

On May 25th, CORA and KYMBA received their second Resolution of Appreciation from the City of Covington for their work on the Devou Park mountain bike trail!

Devou Park June 12 Trail Day!

Summer is upon us and trailbuilding is in full swing. Once the first phase is complete, Devou Park will be officially open to ride.  The first phase includes the 1 mile Incinerator trail (completed 2009), and the 3 mile Bates-Combs Loop.  We currently have 1.5 miles of the Bates-Combs Loop complete, and just 1 to go!

We will be out at the trail this Saturday, June 12th and are looking for 30 hearty volunteers to lay in 1000 meters of singletrack.  Please come out and help us complete the Bates-Combs Loop.  To get to the work area more efficiently, a 20 minute shortcut hike to the top of the hill will be flagged out for volunteers.  The trail day begins at 7:30am, but any late-comers should be able to find their way to the top.  If you get confused on the short cut, please follow the established trail. June's work day will be tough - there will be lots of dense honeysuckle and vines to tear out.  The terrain is fantastic though, lots of rolling terrain.  Prefect terrain for Sweet Singletrack!!

Please come out and join the rest of us hearty folks in creating
Northern Kentucky’s newest trail experience.

RSVP Here!

Work sessions are the second Saturday of every month.
Please come join us in giving back to the sport that has given us all so much. Come out to support local communities, get in a great work out, and meet like minded individuals.

* Open house format. 7:30am - 12pm
* Tools Provided.
* Water, long pants, work gloves, and eye protection is
recommended.

Thanks for your support,

Dirty Divas/CORA Women's MTB Clinic

Save the Date!  July 17th @ Harbin Park

The Dirty Diva vision is simple: to get more women on mountain bikes. Why? We believe that learning the skills and developing the strengths needed to ride a mountain bike extend to other aspects of a woman's life. By achieving what she never thought possible, like clearing a log in the trail, or completing a fast descent over rocky terrain, or finishing a grueling race, a mountain biker gains self-confidence. And incidently, she learns how to tear it up on a mountain bike!
