Free Swatch Day raised $1005 for Heifer International, an organization that provides livestock, training and services to small-scale farmers and communities worldwide. For reference, that's enough to buy eight goats and some geese. Just for fun, we sent Heifer a giant check made of fabric to go with the real one. We also recorded the event for posterity in a video. Thanks to everyone who participated! And yes, we are surrounded by a mountain of swatches at the moment. Whew!

Congratulations are due this week to Melissa Copeland, the photographer and designer who submitted Adiqshun Designs Tree to (the first round of) our Christmas-themed Fabric-of-the-Week contest. Now you can buy all you want -- for one week only -- in the Spoonflower Etsy shop. Lots of folks are switching to reusable grocery bags these days. Why not save a few trees this year during the holidays by using wrapping fabric?

For the second week in a row, we have an embarrassment of riches: 18 Christmas-themed designs to choose between. Once again  we're giving everyone two votes. For a year now the Spoonflower logo on our home page has included the word "Beta," Internet lingo for a site that remains in an early, experimental stage of development. For those of you who have suffered through our awkward adolescence with us -- thank you! It's almost over. But before dropping the 'beta' we have one more major set of features to test and we need yet another set of sturdy volunteers.
