Next Monthly Meeting
September 27, 2010, 7:00 pm in the front classroom of Guerin Recreation Center (corner of 16th and Jackson). This is meeting will be a big "Welcome Back!" meeting at which food and refreshments will be served. There will be no meeting held in August.
Next Night Out On The Block
The next Night Out is Friday, September 10th at 7:00 pm, located at 2120 S. Bancroft Street. All are welcome to come. Please bring a food or drink item to share with your neighbors. There is no Night Out in August.
Next Block Clean-Up
August 14th is the next monthly clean-up. Start on your own block at 9:00 am and if you want to join the group clean-up meet at 16th and Jackson at 9:30 am. Supplies will be provided. This is a city sponsored event.
NCA Newsletter
We are looking to start up our bi-monthly printed newsletter again. Volunteers will be needed for production and distribution. If you are interested in helping out please contact us at info@newboldcivic.org.
Fountain Farmers' Market
Every Wednesday from 3 - 7 pm at the fountain park at 11th & Tasker.
LoMo Farmers' Market
Every Tuesday in front of the Fels Community Center at 2407 S. Broad St.
Recycle
The city now recycles plastics that are numbered 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and they can be thrown in the same recycle bin with other recyclables. The city also has a new program called the RecycleBank. You can earn points just by recycling and receive coupons to your favorite places. To learn more visit: www.recyclebank.com or contact us at info@newboldcivic.org to get a sign up form.
Graffiti Removal
Graffiti is still an issue in the neighborhood. Police advise to report each and every incident to 311. You can also apply for your own graffiti removal kit or report graffiti online at www.phila.gov/antigraffiti/removalform.html.
Police
The 1st District - located at 24th & Wolf, holds monthly neighborhood meetings on the third Tuesday of every month, at 6:00 pm. Anyone can attend and bring specific issues to the attention of the District. You can learn more about what other issues may be occurring in the district and efforts aimed at combating those issues.
