52 New Pages / 2 New Shirts
Seeing as it's been almost 2 months since our last email update, I want to remind everyone that the best way to stay up to date with Abort73 is to become a fan of Abort73 on Facebook (MySpace or Twitter work as well). Whereas there's usually a few weeks (or more) between emails, Facebook updates are made on an almost daily basis. Here are some of the highlights from the last week:
Trees Aren’t the Only Things Worth Saving
One of the features on our Facebook page is the Polls tab, which allows fans to vote on questions we post. About a month ago, we gave fans the opportunity to pick the next Abort73 shirt design and the overwhelming winner was Trees Aren’t the Only Things Worth Saving, now available as a standard, unisex T or as a girls, fitted. And seeing as this design has an environmental theme, we went ahead and printed them on 100% organic cotton T-shirts. Be sure to check them out. They're going fast!
State by State Abortion Fact Pages
The biggest news of the week is that Abort73.com has just grown by 52 pages! We've greatly expanded our Facts About Abortion section by adding state-specific statistics for all 50 states (+ Washington DC) and one page that compares that data state by state.
These pages should be advantageous in a number of ways.
First, they give visitors a much better sense of what abortion's impact is in their own state, which helps make the injustice of abortion more real and urgent. One of the impetuses to putting this list together was the desire to be able to more effectively pray for specific regions of the country and this information has proved very helpful to that end.
Second, these pages will help bring more visitors to Abort73 for the first time. Our U.S. statistics page is the second most visited page on our site (behind the home page), and "abortion statistics" is our leading search term by far. Now, whenever someone searches for abortion information on a specific state, we'll be there.
Third, each of our state pages provides direct links to local pregnancy care centers for each of the 5 largest cities in the state (and a sixth link that allows users to find the center closest to their zip code). Not only will this help connect pregnant women to abortion-alternative care in their area, but these links will serve as another search engine hook for anyone who types in "Los Angeles Abortion" or "Chicago Abortion" or tags "Abortion" to any of the 250 largest cities across the country.
Fourth, all of our statistical pages have prominent "LEARN MORE ABOUT ABORTION" links that direct visitors to three of the key pages on the Abort73 site: Prenatal Development, Abortion Techniques and Abortion Pictures.
All that to say, I'm very excited to see how God uses these new pages to make Abort73 an even more effective witness against abortion. Please continue to pray that our reach would grow, and if you'd like to know more specifically what that might look like, this is a good place to start!
