Arms Depot Raids
Rabbi Shmuel Bowman Reports

Egyptian police raided two arms depots in the central Sinai Peninsula last Saturday containing nearly 200 surface-to-air missiles apparently headed for Gaza.  A third site containing 1,500 bullets was also discovered.  Israeli sources said a considerable number of small armaments had probably already been transported through Sinai to Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other Islamist militant groups.

     Lifeshield Shelter Deployed at Kindergarten

A Lifeshield shelter donated by Christian friends in Pensacola, Florida was deployed last week at a kindergarten (ages 9 months to 18 months) at Kokhav Mikhael, a few miles north of Hamas-controlled Gaza.  The bus stop shelter weighs 28 tons and holds 15 people.  An existing bomb shelter provides protection for older children, however the steep and narrow stairs descending underground is impossible for a kindergarten teacher to carry younger children to safety.  Thus, the Lifeshield shelter is a very welcome addition as the new school year started this week.  The mayor of Hof Ashkelon called me later in the day, with emotion in his voice, expressed his deep gratitude for the donated shelter, and the message it conveyed of sincere caring and concern for Israeli citizens.
