Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Give Thanks.
For us as a family Thanksgiving is a weird day. As a retailer it's the last day of rest before the big Holiday rush. Filled with excitement, hesitation, rest and lots of good food.
This year my parents will be with us for the first time. Visiting from Germany, my Dad's been talking about the turkey since days now and is incredible curious on how we will dress and prepare the bird.
Last year we butterflied one and it was amazing, this year, we will keep it simple, straightforward, the way you're supposed to do it.
Brussel Sprouts from Kirsop Farm. Mashed Potato, gotta have those and stuffing. Pumpkin and Pecan Pie, as this will be another first for my parents.
I can't wait to share this meal with my folks. It's one of America's special days I truly enjoy.
And then we jump head-first into the mad season. If the weather today is any indicator, it will be a wild one, and we're ready.
Lots of great new Holiday food, local crafters brought their wares this year and an amazing selection of books for the home, for gift-giving, cooking and for the kids. You gotta be at einmaleins this Holiday Season!
