TWR's Children and Youth Outreach Globally, nearly 3 billion young people are under the age of 25, and more than 1.8 billion of them are under the age of 15. Sadly, a majority of the world’s children and young adults believe truth is relative, values are situational, and God is either irrelevant or non-existent. TWR is working to break down these barriers and reach children before the age of 15. Studies show that early exposure to Christ dramatically increases the opportunity for children to lead a full life dedicated to Jesus. TWR’s children’s programming incorporates Bible stories, drama and music in creative formats. Youth programming focuses on issues pertinent to their lives by using music and panel discussions. Dear friends, Thank you for sending me the new times for your programs and an update on your frequencies. I have listened to TWR programs since 1978, when your programs were aired only on shortwave (my favorite). My consistency in listening is limited by my profession as a sailor. In short, I am a believer and I like programs with spiritual content, but I am still not quite satisfied with my knowledge and understanding. The more I discover and understand the Bible, the more questions and insecurities I have. I often feel even a disbelief regarding many logical discrepancies that occur in my Bible studies. I do not belong to any religious community or church, and I do not have problems with my family tradition either. My first Bible was the one I received from TWR in Monte Carlo in 1978, and, since then, I often listen to your programs. I still believe that God will help me realize the truth completely. I would describe the style of my life with this wonderful verse from Proverbs 30:7-8, “Two things I ask from you: deny them not to me before I die; remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me…” I hope that your programs continue to be lighthouses of hope and encouragement for all who hear them, including me. I greet you cordially and hope that God’s blessings fill our hearts with hope and faith that are so needed in this tired world in which we live! —A listener from the high seas. A Letter from Prison A young man in Ethiopia recently sent us a letter testifying that God’s love can reach beyond both physical and spiritual barriers. He writes: “I am 27 years old and am writing this letter to share my experiences and testify to the changes that took place in my life while I was confined in a prison. I was an immoral person, and sometimes committed crimes like robbery, verbal and sexual abuse, fighting, and so on. I am not writing to mention all the crimes I committed. However, I want to share my unpleasant experience so that others may learn from me. For now, I will just share what happened when I was imprisoned. It was not my first time in a prison, but this one put me into severe stress and frustration. Being sentenced to five years made me feel hopeless and helpless, and I spent my days weeping and wandering in my thoughts. My health deteriorated day by day. I suffered from nightmares and flashbacks. The prisoner in the next cell was worried and tried to approach me. I refused to open up to him, but he never gave up. Finally, his efforts reaped results. One time when he was talking to me and referencing the Bible, he used a different way of speaking. Carried away by his approach, I gave up, and told him everything. He was a believer and was imprisoned because of a false accusation. I felt sad for him when he shared his experience with me, but learned a good lesson from the story. My perceptions and understanding of life has completely changed; my mind and soul were edified. He began to teach me basic Bible lessons, introduced me to TWR's radio ministry, and then requested a radio for me. One may not believe the tremendous changes that happened in my life. The radio I got through my prison mate became my intimate friend. The Bible lessons are instilling new life, new thinking and a new attitude. I became a new creation in the Lord Jesus Christ. It does not matter where I am and how long I may stay here in the prison - what matters is the life I now have. I am praising the mighty Lord God for all the miracles He has done in my life.” Find TWR on Facebook Are you a fan of TWR on Facebook yet? TWR Strategic Projects Update Praise the Lord that TWR has met our goals for the Bonaire tower repair and Estonia transmitter upgrade projects. Thanks to the generosity of friends like you, we will be able to make necessary brace repairs for the Bonaire towers so that we can continue airing the Good News to spiritually needy places like Cuba, Venezuela and the Caribbean. Also, by uupgrading the existing AM transmitter in Estonia from 100,000 to 200,000 watts, TWR programming soon will reach a potential of 159 million people in Russia.
