Our Times Article on Marilee Fowler Patmore
BY: Sondra L. Matthews, Editor & Publisher of the Our Times Newspaper. The Evansville African American Museum (EAAM) is just one of the several successful city projects that reflects the handprint of Marilee Fowler Patmore. It is one that the EAAM Board of Directors can definitely attest that the museum wouldn’t be if Fowler had not spearheaded the $500,000 grant to change the Lincoln Garden 12-unit apartment building into the first African American museum built in the state of Indiana. William E. Miller, vice chair and construction manager of EAAM says we are saddened to hear that Marilee will be leaving our city. Under her leadership, the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau became one of our first and greatest supporters. Marilee also led the initiative to bring the African American Travel Conference to Evansville and provided support to the museum with major sponsorship of the African American Spiritual Ensemble at the Victory. She also directed the production of a large outdoor billboard at the entrance of Evansville from Kentucky, which invited visitors to the Museum.

Celebration of Service
The Celebration of Service will take place on Tuesday, May 11 at Casino Aztar Conference Center beginning at 11:00 AM. While this will be a regular Rotary meeting, Rotarians will be required to purchase a ticket for admittance. Rotarian tickets are $100. Guest tickets are $50 and may be reserved and purchased through the Rotary office by calling 962-4687 or e-mail at info@evansvillerotary.com The poster was designed by Kitch & Schreiber. GSE Hosts Needed
The GSE team will be in the Evansville-Jasper-Princeton area from Sunday, April 25th until they leave Thursday morning.  Tuesday and Wednesday the team is in Evansville with a presentation to our club.  This gives the Evansville area clubs more time than before to match the team members with their vocations.  These are the interests of the GSE team.  Please let Christy (962-4687) know if you can serve as a job host for one team members on Wednesday:  Carolien (interior architect office, interior designers, furniture designers), Yvette (US Government), Ivo (farming, users of auto guidance equipment, farm equipment suppliers, agricultural education), Thijs (financial institutions, banks credit unions, chamber of commerce), and George (banking, financial management). Also if you can serve as a driver while the team is here please let Christy know.  This is a joint effort so everyone is needed and welcome to participate.   It is a great opportunity to meet and interact with individuals who are here to learn about the people of southwestern Indiana.

North Woods Clean-Up Day
