DemiDec
Stipend time. Scrimmage. World Scholar's Cup. And vote.
Also, don't forget to check out the online scrimmage at www.funnelbrain.com/cad.

Beta testing has wrapped to an end (more or less). Thank you all for your hard work throughout the summer - and a special thank you to Akhil Gupta and Jacqueline Khor, our beta test coordinators. To make sure you receive your stipend, please email Rosie your address: rosie@demidec.com.

There is in fact a "more" to the "more or less": the art fundamentals quizzes need a second round of beta testing. Please email sophy@demidec.com if you are up for this.

In other news:
  1. The World Scholar's Cup season is approaching; we will be having regional tournaments at MIT, UC Irvine, and Riverstone International School in Boise, Idaho. To qualify for the World Finals in Shanghai, you should participate in at least one regional or online tournament. We are looking for students to join our grassroots effort and becoming World Scholar's Cup leaders in their areas of the country - helping to build up teams and participation and contributing ideas as we continue to shape the program in its fourth year. If a place on our Regional Leadership Team might interest you, please email our executive director and former Academic Decathlon national champion coach, Chris Cerone, at chris@scholarscup.org. Learn more about the World Scholar's Cup by reading this poster and watching this quick video.

  2. DemiDec's newest illustrator, Vicky Ge, is a finalist in a competition for a new credit card design. I encourage you to check out her submission and, if you like it, to vote for it and spread the word! It doesn't feature any alpacas, alas, but it is nonetheless a wonderful piece of work. Please vote here. Vicky's is #17. It is Election Day, after all.
Best to everyone,

Daniel
