Your vote RIGHT NOW will help us to get food to hungry kids
Another June, another wonderful opportunity for Portland Parks Foundation. Just one year after being a Lend a Hand winner, the Foundation has been selected by Share Our Strength, a national organization committed to ending childhood hunger by 2015, as a finalist in a contest to win $25,000 to implement innovative programs to feed hungry children in Portland.
The Foundation has been successful in bringing big kids and little kids to playgrounds and parks by taking mobile climbing walls into some of Portland’s hardest hit neighborhoods. We want to mobilize those great climbing walls again—this time pairing them with the Federal Free Lunch program. In this way, we can bring healthy food and healthy play to children who wouldn’t necessarily find their way to a lunch site at a playground.
Because you have been a supporter of the Foundation, we’re asking you to work your networks for this brand-new program. We can do a lot with $25,000, and we need your help right now to make it happen.
