<<First Name>>, Remember the show "The Wonder Years"? It was a favorite of mine growing up. Today we watched a few clips, and connected it to Scripture as we launched into a new teaching series.
"Who you are is what other seventh graders say you are." (Do you agree with that? More importantly, does your student?)
We discussed how with the reality of Jesus being our Lord, He comes to joyfully take over every area of our lives. It's a new series simply called, My Heart, Christ's Home.
Over the next couple of months we will look at the "rooms" of our lives where Jesus is meant to be welcome and take ownership.
To help visualize it, one of our leaders — John Sramek — actually built the front of a house in the student center. (Whoa!) Stop on by to see it, and while you're here, grab a copy of the booklet My Heart, Christ's Home.
Here John describes our aim for this series (click to view video):

Also, today every student received a copy of the booklet My Heart, Christ's Home. We encourage you to read through it with your student in the coming weeks.
Discussion questions from today: What do you think of when you hear the verse “I stand at the door and knock”? (Revelation 3:20) What areas of your life do you think are important to have Jesus involved in? What tim es of the week do you think about about your faith? Let Jesus in the door of your life!
We discussed these questions, and offer them here for conversation in your homes.
Thank you again for the privilege of investing in your students! Because Jesus is everything, Jeff Patterson Associate Pastor jeff@willamettechurch.com |
