<<First Name>>,
Who owns the deed to your home?
This Sunday we wrapped up a great series, My Heart, Christ's Home. after building the front of a house (literally), we looked at every 'room' of our lives, asking the questions: Is Jesus welcome here? Does He live here?
Jarred gave the final message, "Transferring the Title," as we considered who manages our homes. Do I call the shots, or have I handed over the deed on 'my' property to the Savior? This way Jesus becomes more than a part of our lives; He becomes our life. It was a powerful time of worship, and many students indicated they want to begin trusting and following Jesus forever. [We ended by listening to this song.]
We focused on three core ideas on why we need Jesus to move into our lives:
1) We need Jesus to move into our lives because we are sinners "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard." (Romans 3:23)
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
2) We need Jesus to move into our lives because He died for our sins and rose again "But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed." (Isaiah 53:5)
"...for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead." (Romans 4:24)
3) We need Jesus to move into our lives because we need to trust Him If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
Jesus says, “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends…" (Rev. 3:20)
We ended reflecting on Jesus' amazing offer, and the words of "The Door," a song by Leeland. What powerful truth in this song! [Watch & listen]
