Dear Friend,
Over the past week, the UC Berkeley campus has transformed from a dormant summer state into its natural bustling self. The libraries flow with a constant stream of students, many exploring the vast physical and virtual resources for the first time.
I particularly enjoy this time of the semester because it allows students to wander the stacks, following their interests wholeheartedly. The urgency of papers and midterms is miles away.
If you’d like to wander through the collections, take a look at these online exhibits. They cover a wide variety of topics and many of them reflect particular academic strengths of the University Library.
With all its new beginnings, this is the perfect time of year to send out our inaugural email. I hope you enjoy the Library news and updates that will arrive in your inbox.
Sincerely,

Thomas C. Leonard
Kenneth and Dorothy Hill University Librarian
P.S. Summer isn’t officially over yet. Check out the Summer Reading List for book recommendations from librarians and faculty members.
