Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Friends,

The North Carolina Institute for Constitutional Law would like to wish all of our Corporate Welfare Weekly recipients a happy Thanksgiving!

We are extremely grateful to the men and women in our local communities who continually strive to produce the goods and services demanded by local consumers and who do so without being subsidized by government with special grants and tax breaks. Their hard work and determination is what truly builds our economy, holds it together, and cultivates the proverbial ground of economic development. A well-cultivated economy is what entrepreneurs and business owners need to firmly establish new businesses, or expand existing ones, within our communities.

It has been, and remains to be, our mission to provide you with the most up-to-date news during this age of corporate incentives give-a-ways, and we greatly appreciate the interest and support we have received from communities all over the Old North State.

We also offer our sympathies to those who have lost their jobs during this holiday season due to the very turbulent economic climate.

Please be safe in your travels and enjoy the holiday!

Sincerely,

Your friends at NCICL

North Carolina State Toast! Enjoy!

Here's to the land of the long leaf pine,
The summer land where the sun doth shine,
Where the weak grow strong and the strong grow great,
Here's to "Down Home," the Old North State!

Here's to the land of the cotton bloom white,
Where the scuppernong perfumes the breeze at night,
Where the soft southern moss and jessamine mate,
'Neath the murmuring pines of the Old North State!

Here's to the land where the galax grows,
Where the rhododendron's rosette glows,
Where soars Mount Mitchell's summit great,
In the "Land of the Sky," in the Old North State!

Here's to the land where maidens are fair,
Where friends are true and cold hearts rare,
The near land, the dear land, whatever fate,
The blest land, the best land, the Old North State!
