On September 24, Ontario announced it's plan for the rollout of seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines. In keeping with the slogan that "it's a different flu season this year," the rollout plan for the annual flu vaccine will be quite different this year. Read more about the rollout plan here.
Niagara LTC Education Day
Niagara Region Public Health recently held their annual half-day long-term care workshop entitled, "The More Things Change, The More Things Stay The Same." The event was well attended and included presentations by Dr. Doug Sider, Jim Gauthier and members of the Infectious Diseases team of the health unit. It was a great session!
MRSA Resource Centre Have you ever wondered about the science behind recommendations for the control of MRSA? There are all kinds of useful articles linking evidence and practice. And now there is a web-based MRSA Resource Center (if you're not already a registered user of Medscape, you will need to sign-up to access this resource).
Big Shot Challenge
The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) held a half-day workshop to launch their annual health care employee immunization program called the "Big Shot Challenge."
