ECBC Men’s Ministry Oct 3rd, 8:30-10:00AM. A new men’s ministry is starting at ECBC and will meet on the first Saturday of the next three months. Bagels, coffee, and good fellowship start at 8:30, and the meeting is promised to be done by 10:00am. The goal of the meeting is to create an environment where men can fellowship, encourage one another, and be challenged to live a Godly life. Most men love the type of challenge that comes in the form of a ball game, fishing trip, running a race or maybe just learning something new. But some challenges come in the form of just making it through a difficult day, week, situation or season, and doing it in a manner pleasing to the Lord. Recently, a man told me that he knew “we face greater challenges today than before”, and that the solution was “connection” because “connection dispels isolation”. The Bible supports this, saying, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Heb 10:25 NIV). Whether you are in difficult times (trials) or in a place that you can encourage others, my challenge to you is to come to this first meeting and start the “connection that dispels isolation”.
