Conversational Voiceovers' News
"Now playing at the Cincinnati Reds' Stadium - JTM Food Group commercial"

Zone Communication Group recently booked me to voice the donut for a new JTM Food Group commercial that will play at the Reds' stadium all summer.  It was great to work with ZoneCG. The directions I received from their producer, Teresa Duffy, were very straightforward and easy to interpret.  Here's what Teresa had to say about my work:

Booking Dottie for a commercial voice over was a great decision for myself and our client.  The remote recording abilities Dottie has enable her to simply email me an MP3 of her final recording. Of all the details needing attention in the production world, it's nice to know I can trust on-time delivery and production quality from Dottie.  ~ Teresa Duffy, Producer, ZoneCG.

I don't have a copy of the commercial to share yet but listen for it the next time you attend a Reds game.

Why is English so hard to learn?
An enclosure, lack of motion and letter writing

No matter how much you push the envelope, if you don't engage others in your vision, it will still be stationary.  Your idea will get more notice if you write it on some fine stationery and mail it in an envelope.

Listen to this month's example.

Time Management Tip
"Weekly Reviews"

More from the book, Getting Things Done, by David Allen.

Last month I wrote about using an inbox or series of inboxes to collect all those random "I need to remember" thoughts.  In that post I glossed over the need to regularly process those inboxes and move the items from your inbox(es) to your to do lists.  However, if you don't conduct a weekly review of your inbox and task list your system will fail.  You need to trust that when you put a note about a task in an inbox that you will come back to it later and do something about it.  David Allen recommends that each week you go through the items in your inboxes, add them to your task lists and review the task lists to remove unimportant items and make choices on what you will focus on completing for the next week.  He goes on to say, "There is no system, formula, software, or set of lists, no matter how completely filled out, that can tie together the almost infinite number of variables that go into "getting our act together."  The only thing that makes it work is a consistent intervention of you."
