"More Sweet Advertising"

In December I wrote about a commercial I recorded for cookies that activated my sweet tooth.  Well, February and Valentine's Day made it inevitable that another "sweet" commercial would come my way, courtesy of Esther Price.  This script mentioned chocolates, light and dark, caramel and pecans!  Yummy!  Guess I better keep heading to the gym if I'm going to be tempted by all this sweet tooth enabling copy.

To listen to the commercial, click here and then select the "Esther Price" post-it note.

QUARTERLY CONTEST
No entries submitted

There are no winners to report for this quarter's contest as unfortunately, there were no entries submitted for consideration.  The lack of entries inspired me to write, so I took my own shot at using the four words (waffle, present, count, butter) to create one theory as to what happened this quarter:

The entry was due Feb. 20th, and she waffled about whether to create a submission or not.  She had to find time to buy a birthday present for her nephew and she had that meeting this afternoon where she needed to be present.  If she was creating a story in her head, her boss wouldn’t be able to count on her to keep the discussion on track.  And she knew it was important to her present course of buttering up her boss in order to get that promotion.  She was counting the days until she heard his final decision.  “Oh well - guess it is better to skip the contest submission this time,” she thought, as she took the final bite of her buttered waffle.

Why is English so hard to learn?
Forthright expressions, hot dogs and affixing postmarks

The letter expressing the frank opinions came in a mustard stained envelope, as the sender was eating a frank while placing the frank on the envelope.

Time Management Tip
"Use your Signature as an Auto-emailer"

I learned this tip from an online posting by Randy Dean who is also the author of the Amazon.com email best seller, Taming the E-mail Beast:  45 Key Strategies for Better Managing Your E-mail overload.  Randy graciously agreed to let me share this idea with all of you.

Most likely you have already figured out how to use the auto-signature function for your outgoing emails.  The auto-signature lets you put an automatic message at the bottom of your email and many email programs let you have multiple versions of your signature.  Well, Randy Dean suggests using this capability as a way to quickly send repeat messages.  If you have an email that you know you'll need to send again to other people, take that email text and make it one of your auto-signature options.  To send the message, drop the signature into a new email, customize it if needed and send it as if it were an original message.  I thought this was a brilliant idea!  You can see the rest of Randy's posted tips at www.randalldean.com/top_ten_email_timesavers.pdf
