DANCE MOViES Commission 2007-2008
Saturday October 3, 7 $5 Another chance to see the four dance films commissioned by EMPAC and premiered at EMPAC's opening festival! Fusing dance with the moving image, these works span a wide geographic, visual and emotional range. They include: a poetic, autobiographical film shot entirely in Mozambique; a lively play on movement and architecture by Argentinian dancers; US veterans working with imagery and re-enactment; and a work combining the aesthetic of video surveillance and the movements of a Russian dancer. Plus get an advanced look at Body/Traces, a video installation by Sophie Kahn & Lisa Parra that will officially premiere with the other recipients of the DANCE MOViES Commission 2008-2009 on Saturday November 7. » More Information
