Just a Digital Minute from New Tricks

02/10/2012

Need a Makeover?

I'll blame it on the heat and my unplugged vacation to Isla Mujeres, but when I got back to Atlanta, I decided to up my game and make a real commitment to help you get your businesses rocking with social media. I am here to tell you that it works when you work it. New Tricks is 18 months old, started at the beginning of a terrible economy, and I am delighted to report that Jonelle Constantine has joined us as the fourth member of the New Tricks team and we are busy, busy, busy.

So,what I am going to do is send out one, easy to do, social media tip per week. No excuses, it is going to come to your mailbox each week on Wednesday. And, I'd like you to make a commitment to actually do the one thing. Up for more business?  If not, you can collect these e-mails to do them later, but in my experience, later sometimes never gets here. And of course you always have the option to unsubscribe if this is just too much mail or not your thing.  Let's get started all fresh from the Fourth of July festivities with the  first and foremost tip of all tips. . . See Below.

PS. New Tricks is now the proud owner of  www.newtricks.com. When I first started the business, the .com was for sale for an outrageous sum, so I got a .me domain for ten dollars. But lately, I knew I'd be really upset if someone else snagged it so I held my breath and bought it. We are very excited!

TIP OF THE WEEK

What Do I Do With All of My #%@# Passwords?

This tip is huge. It makes social media marketing so much easier when you can find the passwords to your accounts! Everyone is overwhelmed with all of the different passwords for each of their different accounts. Most of the time I can't even remember signing up for an account much less remember my user name and password for it.  We are making this the week for you to regain your password sanity.

We have created a Social Media Passport in the form of a spreadsheet for you to download and save to your desktop (by the way don't name it 'Passwords'). You can add each of your accounts along with their associated passwords to the spreadsheet. No more frustration while trying this that and the other possible combinations to get onto a site. Do it and you will thanks us. I promise.  Download a Zip file for a PDF and Excel spreadsheet.
