CHICO’S 3Q SALES, PROFITS UP

>>Fort Myers-based Chico’s FAS (NYSE: CHS) (www.chicosfas.com) posted gains for the third quarter and first nine months of 2009 compared with the same period in 2008. For the third quarter, ended Oct. 31, net income was $22.7 million, up from $2 million for the third quarter last year. Year-to-date, the company showed a net income of $52.1 million compared to $21.4 million for the same period in 2008. Sales for the third quarter increased from $394.2 million from $446.9 million. 



72 “LUXURY” CONDOS IN NAPLES GO FOR $44,444 EACH IN BULK SALE

>>A recent bulk sale of 72 units at The Reserve at Naples, a 300-unit “luxury” condo community near Pine Ridge Road and I-75 in Naples, fetched $3.2 million, according to The Southwest Florida Multi-Housing team of CB Richard Ellis, Fort Myers/Naples (www.cbre.com). They sold to an all-cash buyer. This transaction represents the only fractured condo sale in 2009 to date in Southwest Florida. Jonathan Richards and Ann Bailey of CB Richard Ellis, Fort Myers/Naples represented the seller.





CONSERVANCY RECEIVES $2 MILLION DONATION

>>The Conservancy of Southwest Florida (www.conservancy.org) received a $2 million leadership gift for its “Saving Southwest Florida” Capital Campaign from Eva Sugden Gomez. The donation will support what will be known as the “Sugden Gomez Environmental Planning Center,” located on the renovated, sustainable campus of the Conservancy. The center will serve as the new headquarters for the organization with administrative, science and policy offices, wet and dry laboratories and collaborative meeting spaces. The anticipated completion date for the sustainable campus project is 2011. To date, the Conservancy has raised $29 million toward its $33 million campaign. 



APEX AWARDS THIS SATURDAY

PERYMON JOINS EDEN AUTISM SERVICES

BRUNNER PROMOTED AT PACE

Brunner, who has been with PACE since August, was the academic manager for the Center. She earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida and a Masters in Educational Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to coming to PACE, she worked as a director in the Division of Student Affairs at Florida Gulf Coast University.
