From the President

Fall Season is Near!  Vacations are coming to a close, school shopping has begun and Fall tennis season is just around the corner.  Are you on a team or the AWTA sublist?  If not, and you would like to be, contact Karin Foster to get plugged in before the deadlines.  This is also the time of year that you need to be sure your membership is current.  If you aren't sure about your membership status, contact Maureen Engle.  You can print out a renewal form on the AWTA website or renew on-line.

We had a great Spring season culminating in a very fun End-of-Year Play Day and Annual AWTA meeting at South Austin Tennis Center hosted by Racq Pacq!  If you missed out, then you'll definitely want to join us for the Back-to-School Play Day at South Austin Tennis Center on September 8 hosted by Caswell Crew.  I look forward to seeing you all on the courts soon!


Welcome to Wendy Harrison!

I am pleased to announce the newest member of the AWTA board – Wendy Harrison. With Wendy’s expertise, you should see several changes in our AWTA website. We would especially like to have photos submitted on a regular basis of not only our monthly AWTA activities, but also of your team’s weekly matches. What could be more enjoyable after a hard-fought three setter than to have a victory photo on the website for all to enjoy ! Please send you photos (in the highest resolution that your digital camera will allow) to Wendy.

Congratulations to the WTTA Spring Season Winners:  Caswell Crew (Championship) and The New Crew (Seniors)  Congratulations are also in order for two AWTA teams who won the Sportsmanship Award in their flights – Double Trouble and Racq Pacq.  Way to go, teams!  We are so proud of you! 


September Monthly Meeting Date Change

The next meeting will be held on September 15, 1:30-2:30, at the Senior Activity Center, 2874 Shoal Crest Avenue (corner of 29th St and Lamar).  The monthly AWTA Meeting is open to all members of AWTA, but each WTTA team must send at least one representative.

We have some great events coming up and you will want to be sure and participate!  As you know, every AWTA team participates in some capacity throughout the year to make it all happen.  We have a few openings for  your team to join in the fun.  Mark your calendars now, so you don't miss anything:
