Debate Rages Over New Decade

By Pat Maguire

2010 is here! As the debate rages over whether or not this is the first year of the new decade or we are still in the last decade life goes on at Spokane Valley Screen Printing. It is good to know that t-shirts are as timeless as a good debate and enterprising entrepreneurs will continue to use or products to promote their goods and services. This months issue highlights our friends at the Mica Game Company.

See below for info on what they are all about along with a photo of the cool bag we printed for the Antagonist! Also check out The Fuzz for funny tid-bits to show just how timeless t-shirts are.

Antagonist: A medieval war game

By Paul Humphreys, Partner, Mica Game Company

The Mica Game Company was formed recently in Spokane to manufacture the board game AntagonistTM. Antagonist will debut at GameCon – a game convention at Gonzaga University, January 15-17. Bob Martin and Paul Humphreys (the founders of Mica Game Company) have been working on Antagonist since the early 1990s. This medieval war game features a large roll-out game board and 3D game pieces - mountains, rivers, villages, towers and fortresses. The players use these game pieces to create a unique geography before each game begins. Antagonist includes marauding warriors, changing seasons, burning villages, and limitless strategies. Chuck, Pat, and Susan at SVSP made and screen-printed the large canvas bags used for outer packaging. The bags look great, and SVSP did a super job.

Check us out this weekend in person at the GameCon or contact us through www.micagame.com.

Interesting things about T-Shirts

Favoritism
Today, ninety-one percent of Americans profess to owning a "favorite" T-shirt.

More Favoritism
Thirty-four percent say white is the color of their favorite T-shirt, nearly doubling the votes received by the second and third choices: blue and black, respectively.

Favoritism around the World
Sixty-two percent claim to own more than ten t-shirts(that alone is 1.5 billion T's! Line them up, and they'd circle the globe 34 times!)

Extreme Favoritism
19 percent of 18-24 year olds own more than 30 t-shirts.

Favoritism Explained
And (drum roll please) the number-one reason cited by survey-takers for loving their t-shirts? COMFORT.
