A boy from Buffalo Grove, Illinois got a stern talking-to from authorities when he called 911 to report that his parents were taking away his Xbox 360.
According to a story published Wednesday in the Chicago Tribune, the boy, 15, called the emergency line on Sunday to ask if his parents had the right to take away his console as a punishment. The conversation didn't last long. In addition, officers visited the boy at his residence and informed him that his parents can indeed take away his Xbox 360, and that he would do well to learn from their discipline.
There's no word on what the boy was being punished for, though phone privilege abuse and exaggeration are good guesses.
Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb,Microsoft's Director of Programming for Xbox LIVE, responded to the story on his Twitter account with some good advice: "No no no NO folks. Do NOT do this."
