February 2010 Welcome to the February issue of District Council Direct, a monthly e-mail newsletter created for CAP’s district council members. This month's issue features the unveiling of our new social media campaign. CAP News CAP’s Social Media Program Swings Into Full Gear February 9, 2010 marked the launch of CAP’s official blog – www.cap-mpt.com/blog. Our blog is the centerpiece of our burgeoning social media program, which incorporates the three most popular social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The content for our blog posts will be handpicked from our library of our most popular column – “Case of the Month.” Each post will be a previously published “Case of the Month” reproduced in its entirety. We chose “Case of the Month” for the high level of social value to the medical community. Our Facebook fan page will announce blog posts and invite our “fans” to participate in discussions about the blog. On LinkedIn, we created a company page that functions as the company's public resume. We also started a LinkedIn Group for CAP employees, members, and contacts. Similar to Facebook, our group page links to new blog posts and invites group members to participate in discussions. Finally, we will continue to use Twitter to promote our blog and send followers to the other two platforms. How to Connect with CAP Have you noticed anything different about the home page of our corporate website? We are now including links to our three social media platforms. Click on any of the featured icons to connect to Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. If you would like to join our LinkedIn corporate group, please click here. CAP Events Great Turnout at the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California Annual Convention
| Tram Nguyen with a prospective member | Earlier this month, CAP exhibited at the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC) 49th Annual Convention and Exposition at the Renaissance Hotel in Palm Springs. Lena Ocampo, senior account executive, and Tram Nguyen, account executive, represented CAP at our exhibit booth. The convention drew over 300 physicians from California and other parts of the US. A pre-meeting mailer signed by CAP member, Natalie Nevins, DO was distributed to attendees before the event. Dr. Nevins is an active OPSC member and director of the Downey Regional Medical Center DO Family Practice Residency Program. Last year, she was the first to champion the idea of having risk management education for residents in osteopathic programs. Many CAP members were pleased to see CAP’s support of their convention. Lena commented, “ Our members were so enthused that they actually reinforced whatever Tram and I were telling their colleagues, by saying ‘This is a terrific organization, I am a CAP member and I strongly recommend it.’” While CAP has been an exhibitor at the OPSC fall meetings held in Monterey, this was the first time that we sent representatives to their Southern California convention. Based on the number of quote requests gathered by our account executives, this will not be the last.
